Wizard Philadelphia’s Mission

To deliver quality language services to the community with a primary focus on English as a Second Language. Our emphasis is usable real world language skills. It is through the delivery of these services that we promote intercultural understanding and self-sufficiency as well as assist students in meeting their social, practical, career and academic goals.

These goals are met by combining book work, exercises and history and cultural activities as well as offering the students the opportunity to study with a professor who is native to their target language.

Instructors / Teachers needed part time. All instructors are responsible for ensuring curriculum standards are delivered, students grades and progress are reported and for participating in continuing education. Wizard Language Education Center educates adults! We are looking for talented professional educators to instruct students from age 16+ in English as a Second Language and Foreign Languages.

  • ESL Beginner Instructors

    Bi-lingual professionals with ESL instruction or literacy instruction experience. A Bachelors degree is required, TESOL certificate preferred. Beginner level instructors will be responsible for teaching grammar including the simple tenses, verb conjugation, basic writing and basic reading comprehension.
  • ESL Intermediate Instructors

    Bachelors degree and TESOL certificate required, Masters Degree preferred. Intermediate level instructors will be responsible for teaching grammar, writing skills, reading comprehension, assisting students in applying classroom skills to life and coaching student’s speech development.
  • ESL Advanced Level Instructors

    Masters degree and five plus years teaching experience required. Experience with preparing ESL students for the TOEFL or academic English is preferred. Advanced level instructors will be responsible for teaching grammar, writing skills, reading comprehension, assisting students in applying classroom skills to business and academic applications, coaching student’s speech development and guiding students toward their ELL goals.
  • Foreign Language Instructors: German, French, Italian, Portuguese

    Instructors needed to teach: German, French, Italian and Portuguese. Must have experience with tutoring, lecturing or teaching. Must be fluent or native in instruction language. Must be conversational in English. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Experience in curriculum development is strongly preferred. Our language courses are integrated skills courses and include speaking, reading, writing and grammar. The goal of our foreign language program is for learners to be able to apply what is learned in the classroom for business or travel. (Speakers of other foreign languages are welcome to apply).

Hours available: Most of our classes are taught on weekday evenings and on weekend days. Some afternoon tutoring is available.

Other Part Time Work:

Enthusiastic and outgoing people who have excellent knowledge of their community and established relationships with community organizations, business and leaders needed for part time weekend work.

We currently need community representatives for the following areas/cultures/languages: Brazilian Portuguese Speakers living in the Northeast Castor/Roosevelt/Cottman section, Spanish Speakers form the Columbian/Olney, Feltonville/ Juniata Park/ Summerdale/Lawncrest/ Oxford Circle area, Spanish speakers form the Dominican/Northeast and Richmond, Juniata Park, Feltonville, Fernrock, and Olney areas, Haitian Speakers living in the Haitian/Northeast Philadelphia/Olney areas, Spanish speakers from the Meixan/5th street area, Spanish speaking Peruvians living in the 5th street area.

Community Representatives are responsible for performing outreach in their communities to promote awareness in regards to Wizard Language Education Center’s programs.
