Traditional 160 TESOL course in Philadelphia This course is taught in a traditional classroom setting in a Language School. Students will have the opportunity to observe classes of varying English levels on-site. Students will have the opportunity to tutor an ESL student, an overview of the TKT, the profession of TESOL and employment as well as placement assistance is provided. This course includes: language teaching and learning, teaching resources, creating course outlines and lesson plans, classroom management, current methodologies, learner types and acquisition, assessing learner achievement, teaching specific skills individually or as integrated skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking, classroom observation, tutoring, research, teaching for standardized tests, teaching for specific purposes and professional development.

Students who enroll in the online program must be comfortable using technology and have access to ESOL classes or students for observation and tutoring. Students who enroll in the traditional 160 hour course in Philadelphia must be willing to both observe ESOL classes of multiple levels and participate in ESOL tutoring. This will be arranged for you. TKT studying support is offered for both courses. Help arranging the Teaching Knowledge Test is available for students studying in Philadelphia. A good understanding of English grammar and the language is essential however an add on module 'Grammar for teachers' is available for those who know how to use the grammar but need to learn how to teach it.
Course and Options:
Credit & Discounts: Students who pay in full, AAA members and currently enrolled students are eligible for discounts. Students who are in good academic and financial standing with Wizard are afforded a payment plan upon request. Payment plan schedules depend on class schedules. Typically the full amount of the tuition is spread across three to four scheduled payments. Students may pay by cash, check or Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or wire transfer. Who can study: Anyone who is 18 years old, has a minimum of a high school diploma and is proficient in English can study. International applicants are accepted but must travel here independently.
Group or Private Study: The prices above are based on group study in a group of about 8 to 12 other students. Private and semi-private classes can be arranged by the pricing will be different.
On-site Study: Wizard can send teacher-trainers to your school to train your staff. The cost will depend on travel costs, the length of delivery and how many people need training.
Our Application Process Candidates need to fill out the TESOL application not the general application and submit it with an essay or personal statement and a resume. Once your complete application is received you will be contacted by email or phone. You may be required to perform an application assessment and phone interview to evaluate your English or assess your suitability for the program. Once your application process is complete selected candidates will receive a letter by email or mail notifying them of their acceptance that contains registration instructions.
